Family Class

(birth through age 5)

This is the essential Music Together class, where we welcome children from a variety of age groups to foster natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones, older children learn by leading younger ones, and parents enjoy the convenience of a single class that the whole family can enjoy. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, and exploring musical instruments. Learn more about our family classes:

Babies Class - Birth to 8 months only

Every child's development benefits from early exposure to music and movement. Because the early months are so important, Music Together offers two options for babies. Babies eight months and younger at the time of registration may attend a Mixed Ages Class, whether registered on their own or attending free with an older brother or sister. Babies may also take the special Babies Class offered as a one-semester introduction to Music Together. The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in babies. Meet other parents of newborns and learn some fascinating music activities you can recreate at home with your baby.

Guitar for Grownups

Music Together Guitar for Grownups was designed for parents and caregivers of children currently enrolled in a Music Together class. In this 60-minute class, you'll learn basic guitar technique and selected songs from the current song collection so that you can make even MORE beautiful music at home. This class is good for beginners who have never held a guitar - good for people who know a little guitar, and great for people who already play some Music Together songs!

Sing, dance and build technique and musicianship in an organic, relaxed way while learning new ways to explore Music Together songs with their child at home and on the road. And, it's an enjoyable night out with other parents of small children. Participants receive a workbook and bring their own guitar, capo, and tuner. If you would like to learn to play guitar using Music Together songs as the vehicle, this is the class for you!

Generations

Reach out to the Seniors at Brookdale Senior Living and share the joys of music making with them by participating in this Music Together Intergenerational class.
This is a mixed-age class (birth to 5) that takes place at Brookdale Senior Living Galleria and includes the residents at the facility. These classes create a joyful connection among generations and engage the residents' minds and bodies. The classes are beneficial for staying mentally and physically alert and stir up cherished musical memories for the elderly participants. The classes also inspire the facility staff members to weave music into every day interactions with the elders. The classes help those Prelude families who do not have grandparents in town by providing weekly interactions with the residents who become an extended family to our Prelude Families! Each weekly 45-minute class includes songs, chants, dancing and instrument play. The residents are invited to sit in a circle around the Prelude families and participate in any way they are able and to join in on the fun and music making.

Es ideal para familias bilingües que buscan un ámbito auténtico donde compartir en español con sus niños así como con otros miembros de la comunidad hispanoparlante.

Prelude Violin
The pursuit of playing the violin can begin at a young age. In fact, musical language is most naturally absorbed in a process similar to verbal language acquisition -- something that comes naturally during childhood.

Be a part of our first Prelude Violin class for students ages 5 and older, led by local violinist Kana Kimura. Inspired by the similar, nurturing philosophies of Music Together and the Suzuki Violin Method, this class will establish a strong foundation for playing the violin.

Tuition is $360 for a 12-week session with 45-minute classes. Children will need to rent a violin. We suggest Lisle Violin Shop.

Class size is limited, so sign up today!
