Welcome to classes at Prelude Music Classes' Houston studio!

3701 W. Alabama St. #210

Houston, TX 77024

We are on the second floor, across from the Motherhood Center. The entrance to the studio is on the first floor as the patio doors on the second floor are always locked. Families can take the stairs or the elevator to the second floor.

A Few Important Notes & To-Dos:

  • If you have not already signed the required COVID liability waiver, please download, print, sing, and return the following document.
  • Please arrive 5 minutes before class starts. Help the children succeed by not arriving too early or late for class.
  • Check in at the front desk, one family at a time, where you will be asked a few questions regarding how you’re feeling, and if you’ve had direct contact with someone with COVID 19. You and your child will get your temperature taken upon arrival. If either one of you has a temperature higher than 100.4 degrees, you will be asked to leave. If this happens, please take class online until you feel 100% healthy.
  • All grownups must wear a mask. No mask, no class. Older children are encouraged to wear one, but it is not required. If you have an infant, it is very important for them to see your face. We recommend a clear, transparent face mask available for sale at Prelude.
  • Please wash or sanitize your hands both before and after class.
  • Please bring your own water bottle to the studio. No food (except baby milk) in our studios.
  • Bring your Prelude Bag of instruments to class. Each enrolled family will receive a Prelude Bag on the first day of classes containing a set of instruments, a songbook, and CD.

COVID-19 Policies and Procedures for Prelude's Music Classes In-Person Classes

We are committed to doing our best to mitigate the risks associated with COVID 19 by reducing our class size, practicing social distancing, enhancing sanitation, and ventilation. We also added germicidal UV lights to our own HVAC units. We will do all we can to keep our families, and staff healthy. With this said, it is important to understand that singing indoors does have risks associated with it. As such, all grownups attending Prelude Music Classes will be required to wear a mask at all times when in the building. Children are not required to wear a mask, but older children are highly encouraged to wear a mask.

  • Please do your best to leave right after class, one family at a time. We will have a special departing song for people to leave one at a time after the goodbye song is over. Our Prelude staff will open the door so there’s minimal contact. Please wash or sanitize your hands after class.
  • Stay home if you have any flu-like symptoms, even if you think it’s allergies.
  • Makeup Classes- families will have access to zoom classes. Please contact Alia@preludechild.com for log-in information.

Policies for Prelude's Music Classes

- Cancellation Policy:  No Refunds are issued after the first day of classes. There are no exceptions.

- CDs, Songbooks, Guides: With your enrollment in a Fall, Winter, Summer, or Spring session, each family will receive a CD, Songbook, and Parent Education Materials. Make it available for your child to listen to while she/he is playing, riding in the car, and before nap or bedtime. Use the songbook to help you remember the songs and you can also play along with an instrument. At bedtime or nap time, try using the songbook instead of a regular book.

- Personal Injury Waiver:  A parent or caregiver is required to be present with each child participating in Prelude Music Classes for Children.  Our team has worked very hard to provide a safe environment for you and your family.  Therefore, by participating in class, families agree to hold Prelude Music Classes for Children and all teachers, staff, and affiliated persons free from all damages or liability for any injury to person or property arising from participation in classes.
